Senior Fitness Specialist Workshop

•Train for Life! The older adult market represents the fastest growing segment within the fitness industry. They represent a unique group striving to fend off the onset of many chronic illnesses and conditions and seek to align the benefits of flexibility, core, balance, and reactive training for fall prevention, functional independence, and overall quality of life. The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) developed the Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS) credential to educate health and fitness professionals on how to effectively design such programs. The certificate helps professionals gain the knowledge and skills needed to work with this population within a fitness environment, teaching you recognize their unique needs while instructing you on how to use NASM’s Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT) Model to deliver specialized solutions. This workshop helps prepare individuals for the SFS certificate, covering the science behind the aging body and programming considerations for this phase of life.
