Shoulder Girdle Dysfunction

Postural distortions often lead to altered joint mechanics, creating inefficient movement in terms of force production and reduction and can result in increased wear and tear on the joints. A stooped shouldered and head forward posture (often referred to as Upper Crossed Syndrome) can result in shoulder girdle impingement and rotator cuff tears. This workshop offers solutions for those clients who come to us post-rehab with a need to improve the underlying issues which created this and reduce the likelihood of recurring issues. Course members will learn specific strategies to address these postural distortions and retrain the upper body to improve posture, shoulder girdle alignment and function using Pilate’s apparatus and a variety of exercise techniques off the apparatus.
