By the year 2025, 1.1 billion women will transition to Menopause. 75 - 80% of women over 50 are affected by menopausal symptoms enough to disrupt their daily activities. Some of these symptoms can also mimic PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) with the exception of hot flashes. YogaFit for the Change will discuss the symptoms of PMS and Menopause, compare the differences and similarities and how women are affected physically, mentally, and emotionally. YogaFit for the Change will review the menstrual cycle, PMS and symptoms, and remedies to assist in finding relief. Participants will learn some ways to assist clients in posture, nutrition and relaxation techniques. YogaFit for the Change will also look at the different stages of Menopause, symptoms, and remedies as well as discuss the most current research. Participants will be able to take away sample class formats, yoga postures, and meditation and breathing techniques to help alleviate some of the symptoms of Menopause.
