Foundations of Strength Training reviews and explores key principles of strength training (overload, progression, specificity), various periodisation schemes and their uses as well as strength training program design variables that can be manipulated to successfully lead clients to their goals of developing muscular endurance, strength, power and/or hypertrophy. ? Strength Training Techniques provides participants with a wide selection of training techniques for each muscle group, categorises them and introduces sample training split options for each muscle group based on training programme design. ? Programme Design introduces participants to a wide variety of training programmes created based on varying different program design variables such as sets, reps, load, rest periods, frequency and exercise selection. Include how to use chains and rubber bans resistance combine with free weights. Participants will learn how to build and integrate exercise prescriptions using these techniques within the framework of a periodised programme to help clients meet long-term fitness goals. Participants will work through a variety of cases studies to hone their skills.
