(July 10, 2013) – American Council on Exercise (ACE) has launched a 28-day health and wellness challenge to empower individuals to live their most fit lives, particularly those who may be seeking to take charge of their health. Through Aug. 15, 2013, individuals and employers can sign up at no charge for the 28 Days to a Healthier You online program at ACEFit.com/28Days, gaining access to a comprehensive toolkit supporting healthy lifestyle choices and behaviors.
“Summer is often a time of reflection and rejuvenation. As a lead up to the fall health insurance open enrollment season, it’s also a great time to take stock of your health and plan a course of action that can lead to a healthier you,” said ACE President and CEO Scott Goudeseune. “ACE encourages individuals to sign up for the 28 Days to a Healthier You program, which provides thoughtful, realistic guidance for the daily choices everyone faces when it comes to eating, activity and behavior.”
An online, automated tool, 28 Days to a Healthier You includes:
- A daily opt-in email highlighting an area of focus for that day when it comes to all-important “lifestyle management.” The email includes simple, thought-provoking tips and tasks for success.
- A daily nutrition blog, physical activity tips and easy-to-apply education.
- Access to new videos offering nutrition tips and physical-activity recommendations.
- An opt-in daily text message briefly recapping the day’s topic and to-do items.
- A simplified food and activity journal to track progress and a private journal to save thoughts, feelings and observations.
- An interactive message board where participants can connect, support and motivate each other.
- A pre- and follow-up survey.
Program participants will be automatically entered to win the Summer Health Promotion grand prize from ACE and Ergotron that will help them continue their new healthy lifestyle at home and at work throughout the year. The grand prize winner will receive an ACE Fit Kit, consisting of an, a 55-cm stability ball, braided tubing, rolling mat and 8-pound medicine ball; select choice of a WorkFit Sit-Stand Workstation by Ergotron; and a set of workout DVDs.
