About

Sue has designed fitness programs for individuals of all ages for over 25 years, from children to athletes to seniors. She is a proponent of functional fitness and encourages clients to perform exercises that emulate and enhance their everyday activities. Sue also advocates cross-training and utilization of a variety of equipment and exercises to achieve results. Her favorite mode of training is free body weight exercises because this type of training allows individuals to improve their conditioning without the need for fancy equipment. Sue believes it is important to approach fitness from a well-rounded, holistic standpoint. She therefore places a strong emphasis on safety and balance, focusing on all the elements of physical fitness when designing fitness programs. Her clients are able to learn a variety of disciplines, from yoga and pilates to powerlifting and belly dance- all safely and without injury. Sue also promotes self-reliance, educating clients about the mechanics of exercise and program design so they can gradually become more independent and take charge of their own fitness. Sue's expertise is in working with special populations -cancer patients, fibromyalgia, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, womens' health, etc.- and she is a post-rehabilitation specialist, providing programs for individuals who have been recently released from physical therapy. She also has education and experience in holistic nutrition, herbology, homeopathy, and alternative means of healing. Sue believes fitness should be fun and not a labor and she strives to help clients find ways to get fit that they find enjoyable. Sue knows that in doing so, her clients will be more likely to remain consistent with their programs. Sue presently trains clients in a private, in-home studio, nestled on a mountaintop and overlooking a lake in the scenic foothills of El Dorado County.
