About
Mary Lynne currently is employed as the Wellness Manager of a multi award-winning workplace health promotion program based out of the Human Resources Department at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, OH. She has had over 25 years of professional experience in the health, fitness, and wellness field in a wide variety of settings, including corporate, academic, government, non-profit, and medical settings. She has also had much professional experience in the human and social services. Mary Lynne received her Master’s degree in health education & exercise science and her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In addition Mary Lynne completed extensive post-graduate study in clinical psychology, health/wellness counseling, family & child life, and the expressive/creative arts therapies. She loves to learn and continues to do graduate work whenever she can, and her professional interests include health psychology, health and exercise behavior, holistic health promotion, wellness, healthy aging, and the mind/body connection in health and healing. Mary Lynne is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, a Licensed Social Worker, a Certified Family Life Educator, a Certified Wellness Practitioner, and a Certified Child Life Specialist. She also is a Certified Journaling Instructor, a Certified Holistic Stress Management Instructor, a Certified Well Workplace Practitioner (WELCOA Faculty), a Certified Advanced Intrinsic Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Parenting Education Leader, a Usui Reiki Master, a Registered Yoga Instructor (500 RYT), and a Multi-Certified Exercise Specialist. In addition Mary Lynne is an accomplished athlete who particularly enjoys working-out, tennis, ice skating, and running. She won the national title of Ms. Fitness in 1999, among other athletic honors that she has earned. She studied ballet and dance for many years and continues to take yoga and dance classes today.
