About
I relate to people that have physical challenges and obstacles trying to overcome obesity. Due to a spinal cord injury at age 13 I was in a wheel chair for a year and then used crutches for another year. I dealt with obesity before my injury and then even more after the injury from being so sedentary. After two years of physical therapy I gained enough muscle and movement in my legs that I was able wear an orthotic brace on one leg and walk on the other leg. I overcome obesity with many challenges and became passionate about fitness. My passion for fitness was contagious and friends and family began to come to me for advice and training.The change in me was so apparent that my local gym posted my before-and- after picture as a way to motivate other customers. As of today I have been wearing orthotic leg braces for 15 years. Staying motivated and keeping positive is the key to overcoming fitness challenges and that is what I am here for. I decided to get my ACE-AHFS Post Orthopedic Rehabilitation certification so I can help people that are in situations that seem difficult.
