I have been working as a small group and private personal trainer since January of 2009. Working out of bfit & well, a small fitness facility geared toward the maturing population, I have gotten the opportunity to train clients recovering from stroke and car accidents, living with multiple sclerosis, overcoming obesity, and learning to adapt to the changes that come with aging. In addition, I trained women who wanted to complete their first sprint triathalon and needed help learning to swim, bike, or run. I owned and operated a small private fitness & yoga studio for two years before being accepted into Creighton University's occupational therapy doctorate program which I am in the process of completing. My fitness programs are focused on functional exercises which help clients build strength, balance, and overall fitness to participate in everyday activities. Simple equipment including resistance tubing, weighted balls, dumbbells, and body weight are used to tone the body and educate the client on how to maintain fitness at home. I currently maintain a few weekly clients as I complete my doctorate.
