Education: Bachelor of Arts in exercise science and nutrition from Concordia College; WellCoaches training; certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise Experience: After completing my degree at Concordia in Moorhead, I took a job with a fitness chain in Minnesota as a personal trainer. As a trainer I partnered with individuals to customize workouts that helped them achieve a variety of health and fitness goals—from weight management to increasing their physical activity to strengthening up their core muscles. Though I enjoyed being a personal trainer, I realized there was a limit to the number of lives that I could make a difference in while in that position. This is why I became a health coach. Plus, as a health coach, I love being able to help individuals with a broader spectrum of health areas, including nutrition and stress management. In my free time I enjoy physical activity, going up north to the lake and being with friends and family. I also love giving back to my community through volunteering.
