SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2011) — The American Council on Exercise (ACE) today announced the addition of Anthony J. Wall as director of professional education and Dr. Adam Bordes as senior health strategist, to the organization’s team of experts.  In their new roles, Wall and Bordes will aid in expanding ACE’s professional education course offerings, and develop new tools and programs to bring vital fitness information to the public as part of ACE’s long-term goal to reverse the obesity epidemic by enriching quality of life through fitness.  ACE is America’s leading authority on fitness and the world’s largest nonprofit fitness and personal trainer certification, continuing education and training organization.

“At ACE, we are constantly growing to meet the public’s demand for clarity and leadership in fitness through cutting-edge research and comprehensive educational tools.  We strive to empower fitness professionals, organizations and communities to enrich lives through fitness,” said ACE CEO Scott Goudeseune.  “Anthony and Adam’s expertise will help us develop and implement new programming to keep our network of professionals at the forefront of fitness, and further ACE’s mission to educate the American public to enhance their quality of life through health and physical activity.”

Wall has more than a decade of experience in developing innovative programming and continuing education courses for fitness organizations across the globe.  Prior to joining ACE, Wall served as national personal training manager for Les Mills BodyTrainer™ Personal Training Systems in New Zealand, where he oversaw all aspects of education and training for 10 clubs nationwide.  Earlier in his career, Wall grew his fitness industry knowledge as director of operations and athletics for the Spa & Fitness Club and as a fitness supervisor for the Sports Club Company.  Wall received his Bachelor of Science from Demontfort University in Bedford, England, and a Master of Science from San Diego State University.

As director of professional education, Wall is responsible for creating and managing ACE’s suite of educational resources for fitness professionals, including continuing education course development. He will also oversee ACE’s publications and instructional guides to ensure they meet the organization’s quality standards.  Wall will play an integral role in cultivating the proprietary ACE Integrated Fitness Training® Model (ACE IFT®).  As the first personal training progression model to span the health-fitness-performance continuum, ACE IFT® enables personal trainers to provide comprehensive training solutions for clients of every fitness level, from those who have been sedentary to elite athletes.

Bordes, who will serve as senior health strategist, is a recognized fitness industry speaker, author and educator.  He has created and delivered programming to corporations, universities and colleges nationwide, and has been a practicing personal trainer and wellness coach, both independently and through the health coaching company he founded, for more than a decade.

Bordes will be instrumental in the strategic planning and expansion of ACE’s consumer outreach division and lead the charge in forging collaborative relationships with allied health and fitness partners.  He will aid in the creation and delivery of high-quality, effective educational and fitness training programs and services for consumers, and will help to grow ACE’s position as a thought leader and trusted resource on all things wellness.  Additionally, Bordes will lead the development and implementation of initiatives specifically targeted to empower consumers to enrich quality of life through fitness.

Bordes received his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, and holds a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic.   Bordes is an ACE- certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, lifestyle and weight management coach, and advanced health and fitness specialist.
