Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed the “PHIT Bill” (H.R.6199), which would allow Americans to use their Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts to pay for personal trainers, group fitness classes, gym memberships, etc.  Working alongside other leading voices in fitness and health advocacy, ACE has pushed for passage of the PHIT Bill for years. If passed into law, H.R.6199 would make participating in structured physical activity more affordable and thus more accessible to more people.

ACE now calls on ACE Certified Professionals to write or call both of your U.S. Senators.  Next the issue will be taken up in the U.S. Senate where it will need 60 votes to pass. Securing those 60 votes will be a challenge, so it will require everyone who cares to lift their voices.  ACE will soon provide tools to help. Stay tuned.
