This Mind Body course needs some type of overview and direction for taking the segments. Just getting a box full of DVD's and manuals is not enough.
Confusion - The YogaFit Strength refers back to Level 1 manual and workbook.
And more confusion due to the disclaimers about using and/or teaching in the YogaFit style.

I assume this material will be updated soon. The biggest problem is the book. I never knew one book could contain so many errors. I feel like I paid good money for someone who was borderline illiterate write a book published at Kinkos.

The book is good but the video is terrible. How Beth Shaw got to be the ACE "expert" on yoga is a mystery. Too many reps rather than variety of poses, and no props or modifications, other than the subtle yet heavy marketing of her relatively useless invention, that little ball to squeeze between the thighs. A standard yoga block could be used occasionally to engage the muscles she's suggesting one call attention to, but doing a whole practice holding that ball is unnecessary. Her form is poor on downward dog--the book says not to sink in the joints, but she does, hanging in her shoulders in that pose. Overall the video is more workout class than yoga class. If I were rating the video alone it would be a one-star, but the book is a three star. Very, basic, very brief, but adequate and accurate as an introduction. ACE could charge less for this course and spare anyone watching Beth Shaw, or find a better teacher and create new videos that actually support and illustrate the content of the book.

The manual was small and consisted of about 23 basic poses described. The DVD states that it's for people who have some experience with yoga, and we observe the instructor doing poses at a fast pace with a ball between her thighs.(helps with core). I didn't feel I was getting a lot for the money I spent. Would prefer a basic, more lengthy beginners book with a corresponding DVD.

I would not recommend this course. Some of the basic principles of this course are wrong. I feel that using the information presented in this course is unsafe.

This manual seemed to be very child-like & if you have done yoga for a short amount of time, you will be able to breeze through the material.

The only thing new was the core ball. Therefore it seemed "gimmicky." At least provide a core ball with the price of the course.

The test could place mor emphasis on details? Just to ensure knowledge is well known before teaching the moves.

Overall the course was informative, however, since the Level 1 YogaFit course is not required for the certification I was working on, some of the explanations in this manual were inadequate. I ended up ordering the Level 1 YogaFit by Beth Shaw to get a better understanding of some of the basics and make more sense of the material presented in the YogaCore manual.This included the suggestion at the start of the sample class (pg. 47) to use the standard standing or supine warm-up which is not even in the manual. It is in the book by Beth Shaw and, therefore, I suggest getting this book right away.
Also, there were a number of mistakes in the book and some pages that were supposed to be in the book were not there. Just like in the PilatesFit manual, I found inconsistencies in the descriptions.
In addition, there were mistakes in the presentation of several questions on the actual quiz. There is definitely room for improvement.

I completed the Mind-Body certification series and found a lot of redundancy in the yoga courses.

Easy for instructors/participants with a yoga background. I opened the training manual and read it front to back in a little over an hour, then took the exam.

I liked the combination of video, training manual, and quiz.

The exercises demonstrated on the video were all very strong and had a nice flow but the quality of the video is not that great and the instructor's heavy breathing is distracting. The booklet was well organized and easy to read because of the bullet points. The online test was for the most part very clear and concise. Question #8 is worded incorrectly and seems to be a blend of two separate questions and therefore needs editing.

I've been to several YogaFit trainings and usually enjoy them very much and find the materials more than adequate. The materials here are just not complete enough and the quiz contains some errors.
