  • Do you have clients who want to lose weight or improve their performance in a specific sport or activity?  Traditional training programs focus on isolation exercises that emphasize the concentric phase of muscle action, but that approach may not provide the results your clients want. Strength and power training that emphasize the eccentric phase of muscle action are effective for providing numerous benefits, yet many times are misused in a way that may cause injury. In this webinar led by ACE Senior Fitness Consultant Chris McGrath, you’ll learn how to use strength and power training to produce positive results among the nervous, muscular and endocrine systems, and strategies for developing safe and challenging workout programs.

    You will learn:

    • Physiology surrounding how the human body adapts to strength and power-based exercises
    • To create effective exercise programs that help clients achieve fitness goals related to strength and power training
    • Long-term exercise program design that incorporates appropriate training volume, consistent progression and adequate recovery
    • Effects of exercise on the endocrine system, and how it produces a muscle-building, anabolic state in the body

I think you need to clearly define 'Volume', 'Failure', and 'Non-Failure'. Though you discussed the relative components of 'Advanced', I believe using 2 or 3 "case studies" would be beneficial so that viewers can see examples of clear differences between programming for beginners versus those with, say, 6 months of regular training. Also, 1 of the aforementioned "case studies" should be related to Aerobic training. Very good use of the IFT Model. Very good discussion of the benefits of resistance training & endocrine system.

ACE RESPONSE:  Thank you Brian, we appreciate your feedback.  We will be sure to keep your suggestions in mind when it comes to update this course.

Science is was not my strongest subject in school. As a Personal Trainer, that's exactly what my business is. The weakness of this program is the language. I can't help but think greater pains could be taken to make the material a little easier to understand. For instance, thought the quiz wasn't an easy one, the questions were much easier to understand than the webinar. That could also be a result of the vast amount of material covered in the webinar. Thanks.

comprehensive and well-explained. It was great to learn, for example, that training to failure is not the best method to achieve strength and hypertrophy goals, and cited specific studies. also goes into defining and refining goals based on typical gender-biased interpretations and advising how to help a client reach their goals, even if they are reluctant based on erroneous adopted beliefs. periodization is addressed, as well as using the IFT paradigm to design a workout schedule. after growing weary of conventional bodybuilding and strength-training splits, the ideas in this webinar came as a refreshing alternative that I can't wait to implement in my own and my clients' routines.

ACE RESPONSE: Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed this course and will be able to utilize the information with your clients. Happy training!
