This course, based on a chapter from ACE’s Clinical Exercise Specialist Manual will help you understand how to work more effectively with individuals who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. Learn how fibromyalgia affects the lives of those who suffer from this multifactorial chronic illness and how a properly designed exercise program can play an essential therapeutic role.

    It was a good overview, gave basics on where to start with these clients. I wonder what fitness level could possibly be attained by those with FS? What sort of fitness goals are achievable?

     

    ACE RESPONSE: Richelle, thank you for your feedback and we're glad to enjoyed the course.  To answer your question, fitness levels really depends on the client. The severity of their symptoms, motivation, etc. Exercise helps with decreasing pain from FMS and there are a lot of people with it that reach high levels of physical fitness.

    Aspects of CFIDS should also be included in this since is very similar.

    short class, very good basic information in a quick and easy format. extrememly interesting condition and one that I am sure I'll see eventually.
