Empowering professionals to lead youth

Dr. Asahel “Ash” E. Hayes, a 60-year veteran of the fitness industry and former executive director of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, has dedicated his career to helping children develop a love of physical activity. His work, and the work of countless others, inspired ACE to create the Ash Hayes Scholarship. Our hope is that by empowering professionals we can continue the work of Ash Hayes and, collectively, help the 1 in 3 youth impacted by obesity today.

The program grants adults interested in or currently working with youth all the materials they need to become ACE Certified Personal Trainers at no cost.* The ACE Personal Trainer Certification is aimed at helping professionals lead people of all ages in one-on-one and small-group settings, and develop individualized exercise programs based on the ACE Integrated Fitness Training® Model. Our comprehensive learning program also incorporates the latest research in exercise science, coaching principles and kinesiology.

To apply for the Ash Hayes Scholarship, which will be awarded to 25 deserving leaders annually, applicants will need to submit a brief, compelling essay demonstrating their commitment to helping youth in their community adopt healthier lifestyles.
