About

I went on my first diet when I was 10-years old and was still struggling with my weight 29 years later. The biggest problem I had with dieting is that I hated being hungry and would end up giving up. I thought I was destined to be overweight. As the years passed, my motivation to lose weight was no longer just about how I looked in my jeans but more about how I felt. As the old saying goes, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was fed up with dieting and decided if I was going to lose the weight I had to commit to an exercise program. Once I started exercising regularly the weight started to slowly come off. That motivated me to start eating better. Combining exercising with better food choices (not dieting) was the key. I lost 35lbs and have kept it off for 8-years. It changed my life. In addition to traditional exercise, I now enjoy kayaking, biking, hiking, snorkeling, tennis, even rock wall climbing--things I would never have tried when I was overweight. After losing the weight, I decided I wanted to become a personal trainer so I could help others with their struggles. I enrolled at the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) in Waltham, Massachusetts. After completing 500 hours--100 hours of theory, 100 hours of nutrition, 100 hours of anatomy & physiology and 200 hours of practical gym experience--I earned a certificate in personal training. In 2009, I became ACE certified. The decision to commit to an exercise program changed my life in so many wonderful ways and I know it will change yours too. I would love the opportunity to become your personal trainer and help you achieve your fitness goals.
