About

Susanne's passion for fitness comes from her numerous years of being a gymnast. • Her civilian Army career began in 1999 in Wiesbaden Germany where she served as the Installation Fitness Coordinator as part of MWR. • During her time with the 221st BSB, her fitness programs were awarded best in Germany and Army-Europe year after year. Susanne was named the best in Army Recreation in 2004 – receiving the All-Army Recreation Employee of the Year Award. She helped design the Wiesbaden Fitness Center that opened shortly after her departure in 2005. You could often find her hosting a weekly radio spot from the AFN Studio in Frankfurt, Germany. • From 2005-2007, Susanne served as Hickam AFB’s Fitness Director, leading a team of four Active Duty Airmen, 12 Civilians and many more contractors. During this time, she paved the way for the Hickam/Pearl Harbor base realignment. • In 2008, Susanne helped implement the expansion of the Army Physical Fitness Research Institute, from the Army’s War College in Carlisle Barracks, PA, to the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth as an Exercise Physiologist. Here she completed well over 1,000 treadmill and Maximum Strength tests for students, faculty and spouses. The APRFI program paved the way for the Army Wellness Centers and truly is a precursor to the Army’s H2F Program. • As the APRFI program was part of the 2011 Reductions in Force, Susanne moved over to Performance Optimization Training with Athlete’s Performance, now referred to as EXOS. She served as the General Manager of the onsite Wellness Program at Cerner World HQ in Kansas City. • In 2012 she as offered a position with the Georgia State Department of Public Health in Atlanta, GA. Here she would develop a Worksite Wellness Program for the State of Georgia which received several community and national awards.
