Deena is the Vice President of Community Impact at the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, where she oversees the organization's programs, grant making and public affairs. She launched her career in Washington, D.C. advocating to address poverty and protect civil rights - she has been working on these issues ever since. Prior to joining United Way, Deena served for over a decade as President of Focali Consulting, LLC, a strategic management and public policy consulting firm supporting the nonprofit, philanthropic, and government sectors on policy, strategic planning and organizational development. She also has more than 20 years of experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, having held positions at the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Office, the County of Los Angeles Chief Executive Office, and the National Council of Jewish Women. She holds a master's degree in public administration from Columbia University.
