ACE Chief Exercise Physiologist Receives 2004 Alumni Recognition Award

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sept. 29, 2004 – The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s non-profit fitness advocate, is proud to announce Dr. Cedric Bryant, ACE chief exercise physiologist, has been selected to receive the 2004 Alumni Recognition Award from Pennsylvania State University. The award honors alumni who have demonstrated professional excellence and exemplary voluntary community involvement in a health and human development field.

Bryant joined ACE as chief exercise physiologist and vice president of educational services in 2001. Dr. Bryant lectures nationally and internationally on many topics related to exercise, fitness and nutrition. He is an accomplished writer, having authored or co-authored 21 books and over 200 articles in magazines including ACE Certified News, IDEA Personal Trainer and Shape, as well as sports medicine and fitness journals such as the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. Dr. Bryant also serves as a health and fitness expert for various media outlets, including USA Today, Washington Post, New York Times, Parade Magazine and CNN Headline News.

Bryant earned both his doctorate in physiology and master's degree in exercise science from Pennsylvania State University. He will be honored on October 1st at a ceremony including a formal award presentation and dinner with the College’s Alumni Society Board.
