Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist Requirements

To sit for the AHFS Certification Exam, you must be at least 18 years old; hold a current adult CPR/AED certification; and hold a current NCCA-accredited fitness certification or a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field at the time of exam registration. You must also submit proof of 300 hours of work experience designing and implementing exercise programs for apparently healthy or high-risk individuals, as documented by a qualified professional.

G.I. Bill

POST 9/11 G.I. BILL

The Post 9/11 G.I. Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. Active duty, veterans, and eligible spouses and dependents can receive reimbursement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for fees associated with our ACE Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, and Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist certification exams.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

ACE is a longstanding participant in the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA), which provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance to spouses of active-duty military and activated National Guard and Reserve members pursuing certification programs. In an effort to help you on your journey to becoming an ACE-certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Health Coach, or Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist, eligible spouses can receive funds from MyCAA to fully cover the costs of certification study materials, exam fees and continuing education courses.
