ACE Military Programs Overview

The American Council on Exercise® (ACE®) participates in programs to provide assistance to active duty military, activated National Guard and Reserves, veterans and dependents towards earning ACE certifications. Learn how you can receive this valuable reimbursement and financial assistance under the G.I. Bill and the Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) program.

 

 

 

Veterans Affairs Reimbursement – G.I. Bill

Active military, veterans and eligible spouses and dependents can receive reimbursement from the Department of Veterans Affairs for exam fees for the ACE-certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant, and Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist certifications. Under the G.I. Bill, all ACE exams qualify for reimbursement, including first-time and re-take fees.

 

How to Apply for Reimbursement

  1. Apply for education benefits by completing the Veterans ON-line APPlication (VONAPP)
  2. Apply for reimbursement by providing a signed and dated request to the Department of Veterans Affairs including:
    1. Your Full Name
    2. Your Mailing Address
    3. Your Home Phone Number (Including Area Code)
    4. Your Social Security Number
    5. Your VA File Number (If Different from your Social Security Number)
    6. Name of ACE Certification Exam You Took
    7. Date the ACE Certification Exam was Taken
    8. Cost of the ACE Certification Exam
    9. A Copy of Your Exam Results or a Copy of Your ACE Certification
    10. Name and Address of Organization Issuing License:

    11. Statement: “I hereby authorize the release of my test information to the Department of Veterans Affairs”
    12. Your Signature and Date Signed
  3. Mail the reimbursement request to the Department of Veterans Affairs:

Military Spouse Career Advancement Account – MyCAA

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account program, MyCAA, can help you become an ACE-certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant, and Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist. Available for military spouses of DoD Active Duty members and activated members of the National Guard and Reserve Components worldwide, through this program, eligible military spouses can receive up to $6,000 of financial assistance to help pay for ACE’s fitness certification study materials and exam fees.

 

How to Apply for MyCAA Financial Assistance

  1. Establish an account on the MyCAA Web site
  2. Determine which certification is right for you.
  3. View ACE recommended study materials or browse for study materials
  4. Submit ACE Course through MyCAA Portal
    1. Course Code = 1
    2. Course Title = Title of Certification (i.e. Personal Trainer Certification, Group Fitness Instructor Certification)
    3. Course Start Date = Today’s Date
    4. Course Cost = Cost of Study Materials Including Shipping
  5. MyCAA will process the request and provide payment to ACE (This may take up to two months.)
  6. Once ACE has received payment from MyCAA, the study materials requested will be shipped to you.
