Strength Training for Youth

Strength Training for Youth provides fitness professionals with the principles, protocols, and practical information necessary for implementing safe, effective, and enjoyable programs of resistance exercise for preadolescent boys and girls. This course is based on more than 15 years of youth resistance training research conducted by Drs. Avery Faigenbaum and Wayne Westcott with hundreds of children, and published in numerous research journals. The strength training information and exercise guidelines are 100% consistent with the ACE Youth Fitness book, the ACE Youth Strength Training book, and the ACE Youth Fitness Manual authored by Drs. Faigenbaum and Westcott. The emphasis of this course is the design and development of safe and successful youth strength training programs that are effective for improving body composition, increasing muscle strength, and enhancing physical performance.
