Stability & Balance for Fall Prevention

The workshop delivers class format options and tailored exercise progressions for those with disease and chronic conditions impacting their ability to maintain postural stability and balance. The presentation includes a review of the 2010 Fall Prevention Guidelines, research updates on the causes of falls, fitness assessment protocols and progressive movement techniques to improve stability and balance. A chair for standing and seated functional challenges, a hand-held ball and floor mat (optional) are incorporated into the workout for safety and effectiveness.
