Most people would agree that prolonged health is the key to successful aging. This seminar takes a holistic approach to graceful aging by empowering others to take a more proactive role in their collective health and well-being. The holistic principles of the body as a self-healing entity, the art of conscious living, the uniqueness and individuality of all and the mergence and interconnectedness of the mind, body and spirit will be explored. We will discuss the science of epigenetics, factors that influence gene expression and their roles in the onset of disease or preservation of health. By examining the physiology of the aging process, its effects on the body’s main functional systems, we will be able to distinguish the difference between aging and chronic disease. Those who attend will leave with an understanding of how internal and environmental factors such as our thoughts, nutrition and exercise along with their roles in gene expression can prevent disease and promote a life of vitality.
