The Yoga Therapy Structural Assessment course will enable the fitness professional to confidently assess an individual student’s posture, flexibility and strength, and from that information, create a personalized yoga therapy practice to address the individual’s needs. The participant will learn to perform a Postural Analysis, and in-depth movement assessment to identify movement impairments. Treatment planning utilizing the holistic approach of yoga for healing of mind, body and spirit will be learned in an experiential format. This includes techniques of pranayama, yoga postures, self-myofascial release, posture assists/adjustments, relationship building strategies and Yoga Nidra for stress reduction and connection. Finally, the students will learn how to design and set up the curriculum for a 6 week group therapeutic yoga class. The student will leave understanding the holistic approach of yoga therapy, that it is not a "prescriptive" approach, but rather an approach which is successful when one practices the tools of yoga.
