A fitness professional who takes the course will become educated in the Walk With Ease group program, which is set up as a structured six-week course series that meets three times each week. Most sessions include: health education on topics related to arthritis and exercise or motivational strategies, group sharing and discussion, a warm-up and 10-30 minute walk and cool-down, and final comments, assignments and reminders. Fitness professionals will learn various exercises that are beneficial to people before and after walking. They will also learn educational topics that are important and beneficial to people with arthritis.
