Geri-Fit Advanced Strength Training Techniques for Older Adults

This is an advanced, online continuing education learning program for group exercise instructors, Personal Fitness Trainers, healthcare professionals, health coaches, in-home health providers, and activity directors that are working with older-older adults that need to rebuild lost strength. These exercises are specifically targeted for ages 75 and over. Balance and gait exercises are included in the training as well as fall prevention techniques. Additionally, guidelines in working with older adults with chronic health conditions will be addressed. Modifications of the strength training exercises will be shown in order to accommodate all senior fitness levels and abilities. In order to be accepted into the online training program, candidates must already be certified by a nationally-recognized fitness organization such as ACE, NSCA, AFFA, ACSM, NASM, NESTA and others, and have a minimum of 3 years of experience with either teaching group exercise programs or personal fitness training.
