Hormones play an important role in your body’s overall wellness; however, hormone levels can be affected by and affect even the slightest shifts in exercise, diet and other extraneous factors. This exam will cover myriad topics including, but, not limited to: how foods, supplements and exercise adjustments affect one’s hormone levels, as well the effect of hormones on physical performance and body composition. The science beyond hormones in both males and females will lay the foundation for specific internal and external affecting factors. For example, how a woman’s monthly menstrual cycle can affect athletic performance and how dairy products can affect a man’s health and his susceptibility to diseases like prostate cancer. Hormone levels change and adapt based on lifestyle choices and changes. This exam will teach students to be well-versed on hormone management.
