Basic & Beyond Choreography Analysis, Fall 2012

This 2 hour course includes a brief overview of the physical and functional characteristics of students in Basic & Beyond group fitness classes. Key choreography principles for addressing these characteristics will be reviewed along with appropriate selection of routines to ensure a balanced workout. With the introduction of fusion balls for the Basic & Beyond workout, presenters will present the rationale and objectives for this new tool. New research from Exercise Etc. on dynamic stretches with reciprocal inhibition preparation will also be presented. This will be followed by choreography analysis with a focus on principles addressing student physical and functional characteristics, introduction of the fusion ball, and introduction of stretches with reciprocal inhibition preparation.
