Nutrition and Fitness Summit

Participants will learn the significance of not just what is eaten, but when it is eaten, to improve both exercise performance and recovery from John Ivy, one of the eminent researchers in this area. Certified personal trainers frequently get questions from their clients on various dietary supplements, so a session from sports dietitian Marie Spano will address how to answer these types of questions. It is sometimes difficult to translate sports nutrition recommendations for carbohydrate, protein, and fluid intake into real meals that clients can consume, so sports dietitian Ellen Coleman will provide practical advice on how to do this. Finally, Brett Bartholomew, from the elite training organization Athletes' Performance, will conduct a 2.5hr hands-on session demonstrating new techniques to teach various athletic skill movements. A panel discussion will be held at the end of the day to field questions from the participants.
