ONE TO ONE-TRAINER/CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

Trainers need to understand nine aspects in assessing a client and learn how to use these to create a good first impression, as well as a lasting relationship with a client. There are five motivational strategies to improve adherence to exercise and prevent drop out on the front end of the relationship. When a trainer incorporates these into a client's plan, the relationship will continue longer. Unfortunately all trainers eventually have to deal with conflict by addressing confidentiality, confrontation, and results issues. Learning the guidelines and some techniques to deal with these issues can be beneficial. Trainers also need to learn how to put themselves under the microscope evaluate their performance and also learn how to prevent burn out.
