Numerous people die as a result of heat-related illness while engaging in physical activity every year. Whether it’s due to the summer heat or poor ventilation in fitness studios, elevated temperatures can and do limit an individual’s ability to perform. Understanding how the body responds to temperature changes is an important component for designing safe, successful exercise programs. In this course, you’ll explore a number of heat-related illnesses, how to recognize warning signs and how to take steps such as proper hydration that help your clients train for optimal performance.
