Designed for yoga instructors who serve students suffering from body-image issues, YogaLean II is aimed at providing teachers the tools they need to develop safe and effective yoga classes that meet psychological, emotional, and physical considerations associated with eating disorders. Trainees will learn how to create and sustain an environment of healing and acceptance through the use and practice of the yogic tools of asana, pranayama, philosophy and meditation. Interactive activities focusing on the teaching and practice of mindfulness skills are emphasized.
You will learn:
- To identify empirical evidence that supports the practice of yoga as a tool in the promotion of positive self and body image
- The physiological, emotional, and mental impact of bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa and binge eating
- Safe and effective yoga sequences that empower individuals struggling with these disorders
- To design a class sequence that encourages an environment of self-healing for students stuck anywhere on the continuum of negative self and body image using the comprehensive system of Yoga (philosophy, asana, pranayama, meditation)
