Course Description

The average number of hours people report sleeping per night has steadily declined over the past few decades. This is not surprising with round-the-clock communications including television and the Internet, and technological advances enabling people to do more work, and much of it from home. But research shows that there is a connection between a chronic lack of sleep and the risk of health problems including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and weight gain. In this live webinar, learn how much sleep is ideal for good heath and how sleep affects what and how much we eat, how we exercise and if we lose weight, and how we function on a daily basis.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
  • Identify the importance of sleep and the ideal amount of sleep each person requires on average.
  • Describe how health is adversely affected due to a lack of sleep, both acutely and chronically.
  • Explain the connection between sleep deprivation and weight gain.
