WHO IS IT DESIGNED FOR?

The BioMechanics Method® Corrective Exercise Specialist online course was created for health and fitness professionals by world renowned corrective exercise expert Justin Price. Based on The Biomechanics Method® corrective exercise educational program, the course is ideal for those who want to help themselves and their clients eliminate pain and improve function. Professionals who have earned this corrective exercise credential are sought after for their unique ability to help people eradicate pain and regain or continue active lifestyles.

HOW DO I EARN ONE?

To become a Corrective Exercise Specialist you must complete an online course that consists of five distinct but interconnected educational modules:

  1. The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment
  2. Understanding Muscles and Movement
  3. The Fundamentals of Corrective Exercise
  4. Corrective Exercise Program Design
  5. The Complete Exercise Library

Each module consists of a digital textbook, a video and an online quiz. To ensure you learn the material in the step-by-step manner in which it is designed, you must complete the learning modules and quizzes in the order listed below. You will have access to all five learning modules at once but should only commence working on subsequent modules once you have successfully completed the one before it. Multiple-choice quizzes for each module are delivered in a convenient, online format.

Once you complete all modules, you will automatically be updated in our system as an BioMechanics Method®  Specialist and a certificate of completion will be uploaded into your My ACE account. This credential does not expire. Purchase price includes all online materials, unlimited test retakes and the course itself.

For health and fitness professionals, the BioMechanics Method® Corrective Exercise course is equivalent to 8.0 ACE CECs.

The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment is comprised of The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment integrated digital reference manual, The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment video, and The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment online quiz. The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment explores:

  • Various techniques for assessing posture (i.e. verbal, visual and hands-on)
  • Assessments for the feet, ankles, knees, lumbo-pelvic hip girdle, thoracic spine, shoulder girdle, neck and head

Upon successful completion of this module you will:

Understanding Muscles and Movement is comprised of the Understanding Muscles and Movement integrated digital reference manual, the Understanding Muscles and Movement video, and the Understanding Muscles and Movement test. This module explains in easy-to-understand terms how the whole body moves together as an integrated system of muscles, tendons, bones, ligaments, and fascia; information that is essential for understanding the root causes of pain. You will also discover the unique approach of The BioMechanics Method® in regard to understanding how gravity and ground reaction forces change the way the body moves - knowledge that is imperative for designing corrective exercise strategies that successfully alleviate pain.

Understanding Muscles and Movement explores:

  • Be able to detect the root causes of a client’s pain and/or movement dysfunction
  • Understand how to use anatomy and assessment findings to design and integrate corrective exercise programming into client’s training programs
