The course also includes important forms (available as PDF downloads) which you can use in your personal training practice:

    • ACE Health History Inventory (long version)
    • Physician Referral for Client to Exercise
    • Authorization for Release of Protected Health Information

    Course Objectives

    • Outline the benefits of conducting a pre-activity health history and screening, particularly for individuals who face health challenges.
    • Identify the major risk factors for coronary heart disease.
    • Discuss the importance of informed consent and liability waivers related to personal training services.

I think it was a great overview, especially for someone not particularly comfortable with or experienced in the PAR-Q and other methods of assessing clients.

It is a good basic start. More knowledge is definitely required when health complications are involved. Thank you for the concise information.

some of the information in the table 2.2 ACSM's Recommended Clinical Exercise Test was sort of confusing to pick apart in the table (I understand the concept but their delivery is sort of old school table and not that easy to read).

Since I was just recently certified, this course was not 'necessary' -- the group fitness manual covered the information so I'm not sure how to rate [if info was new then I would rate this high and useful]

Did not find this very specific. The course materials are 21 pages long and could probably comprised to half of that, especially when already holding a current Personal Trainer Certification.

    excellent class, good information

The course reading is brief and to the point. The use and criteria of PAR-Q, PARmed-X re-establishes the necessity of these health questioners to the personal trainer.

Good review & update of the latest recommendations. I would have liked to have seen which questions I got wrong and reviewed them, however.
