Scott Goudeseune Named President of the American Council on Exercise

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – May 8, 2006 – The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate, is pleased to announce that Scott Goudeseune has been named president of the American Council on Exercise. Goudeseune has been with the organization since 2000 and has been the chief operating officer since July of 2005.

“It is with great enthusiasm that the ACE Board of Directors unanimously selects Scott Goudeseune as President of the American Council on Exercise,” said Terry L. Bazzarre, Ph.D., ACE board chair & senior program officer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. “Following a thorough and global search process, Scott clearly stands out as a dynamic leader who has a proven successful track record in operations and business development. Through his effort, ACE will continue to have a very important role in the future shaping of national and state-wide health and fitness policy.”

Goudeseune has more than 20 years of extensive operations, sales and marketing experience. He previously served ACE as Vice President of Sales & Business Development. In 2003, he was assigned the Vice President of Operations position, and most recently served as Chief Operating officer. During his tenure with the company, ACE has earned accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), and expanded key business relationships with leaders inside and outside the fitness industry.

Prior to joining ACE, Goudeseune was the vice president of U.S. sales for Reebok CCS Fitness in Aurora, Colo., where he was responsible for commercial and specialty retail sales of Reebok's fitness equipment line totaling $18 million annually.

Before joining Reebok, Goudeseune worked as the manager of learning and development of U.S. sales for Coors Brewing Co. in Golden, CO.
