Do You Need a Study Coach? 4 Benefits of Using ACE’s Study Coach Program

The Study Coach Program is a free service offered to candidates who may have any questions while preparing for any of the four ACE certification exams.
Free is a good incentive, but why should anyone use the program? Here are just 4 ways a Study Coach can help you.
1. Check Your Understanding of Course Content:
Utilizing the Study Coach program is a great way to check your understanding of course content -- checking off the concepts that you know and discussing ones that may not be sinking in.
Since people begin their journey with ACE from all different backgrounds. Some may not have any prior knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, and physiology while others may have a degree in the field. Still, some people may be working in the fitness field, but haven’t taken an exam in 20 years. No matter what your starting point, a Study Coach is here to make sure you understand the content, and assist and support you while you prepare for your exam.
2. Provide Direction and Ease Anxiety:
A Study Coach can also help give you direction during those stressful times in your studies. Everyone has felt overwhelmed at one time or another, and it is not a good feeling. For those who are studying for an ACE exam, a lot of the anxiety can result from facing the large amount of information that has to be digested. So just one phone call or email with a Study Coach that covers exam expectations and procedures can help you navigate the information and put your mind at ease.
3. Weekly Emails That Provide Structure:
Another feature of the Study Coach program is the weekly emails you receive that help give the program some structure. Two of the most common questions we receive from people are “Where do I begin? “ and “How should I be studying? “ These are certainly valid questions after you make a purchase and receive a box full of study materials and have no idea where to start. The Study Coach emails address both of these common questions!
The Study Coach emails come in a 12- or 20-week format and will guide you through the study materials in that given amount of time. Each week, you will receive an email that will let you know which chapters to read and which study tools you should be using as well as what key concepts you should giving attention.
So what happens if you delete an email? No need to worry! All of the emails can be found in your account on the ACE website under the "Study Coach" heading.
Keep in mind, however, that these emails are not meant to stress you out. Instead, they are designed to serve as a guide and a means to help keep you on track. We all know that things come up in life and we have other obligations to take care of while we are preparing for our exam, so do your best to stick with the outline, but don’t be discouraged if you need a little bit more time.
Even though this is a self-study program, that does not mean you have to do it alone. We at ACE are always here to help, and everyone is invited to contact a Study Coach. If you feel stuck during your studies, lets work together to get unstuck, and to move forward toward earning your ACE certification.
4. Get Specific Questions Answered…Any Time!
Last but not least, study coaches are always accessible.
