About

Christine DeFilippis is a movement motivator, body liberator, and unconventional fitness professional with nearly 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. She currently serves as the Group Fitness Director for the Spring Valley Branch of the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, bringing leadership experience from nonprofit organizations, commercial fitness facilities, and studio ownership into her work creating inclusive and welcoming fitness communities. Christine is also the creator and owner of FitProEd, an online education platform designed to help fitness instructors expand their expertise and increase their impact. Through FitProEd, she supports instructors in creating more inclusive, engaging, and meaningful movement experiences for their communities. Previously, Christine owned Pop Fit Studio, a HAES-aligned and weight-inclusive fitness studio in the Philadelphia suburbs that focused on joyful movement and creating a welcoming environment for all bodies. After years of struggling with eating disorders, weight cycling, body dysmorphia, and the pressure of traditional fitness culture, Christine shifted her focus toward joyful movement, body acceptance, and sustainable wellness. She went on to create the Breaking Body Biases podcast, amplifying the voices of fitness professionals, dietitians, and wellness practitioners working to challenge diet culture and redefine what health and fitness can look like.
