Profile:
Andy Paxton
Tuscaloosa, AL USA 35406
On March 16, 2009, I reached 50 years of age, and on March 17th, I passed my ACE Certification for Personal Trainer. These two joyous events affect my philosophy of training and life calling.
In high school I had the drive to be physical fit, both for sport performance and self image reasons, plus the need to overcome weakening from a broken back at L4 vertabrae.
Now at 50, I simply believe my passion for fitness is not about me anymore, but about others. Personal training is the perfect combination and natural expression of the passion for fitness, and the passion to share. I draw energy from the entire process!
Over the past year and a half, I have trained two athletes at the University of Alabama Recreation Center who are national champions in their age bracket and skill level in racquetball. I have also recently come to advise a Para-Olympic level wheelchair basketball and alpine sitski athlete on developing core strength.
In closing, I believe fitness is a constant. It is recession proof. It is not a respecter of wealth, gender, race, or social status.
But I believe fitness is a choice, and is foundational in our ability to enjoy ourselves, our jobs, family, experiences, and anything else that we call the "the good life".
