Here's what I strive for as a health professional:(1) MOLD-ABILITY: A wise trainer will never stop learning. It is essential to stay on top of your game so that you know what new products are legitimate or just a soon-to-be-fading fad. As a trainer, you cannot only be learning, but you have to be willing to change and adapt. Apply what you are learning to your training style and/or technique. Never think you've reached the top.(2) ZEAL FOR YOUR PASSION: A great trainer that both excels in their profession and excels with people will have an eager and ardent interest in pursuit of developing as a professional. Whatever area of training is your "passion," I say pursue it. JUST GO FOR IT! Live it. Love it. Let your enthusiasm be transparent so that others can catch your passion and be eager to advance to the next level, whatever it may be. Do what you love in the health field and make it fun & engaging for others. (3) LOVE MAKING OTHERS SUCCESSFUL: If you don't have an attitude of putting your clientele before yourself, I can guarantee that you will not last long in this health field nor become a very successful trainer. Our client's needs MUST come before our own personal gain. Also, if your client succeeds at their fitness goal, make sure they receive the praise and glory. I don't care how influential you were in their success, there are 168 hours in a week, and my guess is your client doesn't spend even a 10th of that time with you. Give them credit for their hard work inside and outside of the gym.
