Christian is a graduate student from California State University East Bay with a focus on Recreation Therapy. He completed his internship at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center and was recently hired by NCIRE (Northern California Institute on Research & Education)as a Wellness Specialist. As an ACE CPT, he has worked in clinical settngs such as physical therapy clinics and community based fitness centers. Currently, Christian works for World Gym in San Francisco as a functional fitness trainer and group fitness instructor. Christian has an inspiring, yet gruesome story to tell. He sustained a traumatic brain injury in the year of 1997 and was initially comatose for 22 days and was paralyzed on one side of his body. The doctors predicted he would not ever be able to walk, talk, or have any cognition of others. Despite the poor prognosis, Christian persevered through 8 major operations and is alive, well, and healthy after major life alterations. He prides himself for being employed by UCSF because the majority of his inpatient rehabilitation was spent at UCSF’s Parnassus campus. Christian’s motto is: “Never, Never, Say Never! Use your heart and mind to confide in yourself no matter what the odds are.”
