VISIT KATE @ k8trains.com!! She may be small in stature, but Kate Toohig, owner of Train for Life, LLC is anything but little. This certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, indoor cycling instructor, nutrition consultant, and coach has what seems to be an unending amount of energy. She has spent the last 10 years educating herself, her clients, her classes, and the general public on the importance of nutrition and fitness. Kate's love of sports began at a very early age as she trounced around the football field (her grandmother's backyard) with her all male cousins. This developed into a love of anything sports related and created a life-long competitor. After playing various sports in high school and college, Kate earned her MEd and began teaching and coaching at the high school level. She studied exercise physiology during this time, but made the jump to fitness as a full time career after the birth her children. "I want to be a mom first and have a career second. The fitness industry allows for that. Plus, I love it!" Kate achieved her nationally recognized personal training certificate and began training and instructing group fitness classes at various gyms in the area. It was when she served as a fitness manager that she realized her desire to develop safe, effective, well-rounded fitness and nutrition programs. "So many trainers do cookie cutter training, using 1 program for a variety of clients instead of individualizing their programs to fit each client's goals. I want my clients to see the results THEY want. Since they are all different, so are my programs." Since then, Kate has trained clients of all shapes and sizes, genders, ages, and abilities. She recently had the pleasure of watching a boxer whom she trained win his first professional fight. "I love watching the faces of my clients as they reach goals, both big and small. Whether they lose a pound or win a title, that's what makes it worth it!"
