San Diego, Calif. – Sept. 20, 2004 - The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s nonprofit fitness advocate, today announced that its website, www.acefitness.org, has received a “Standard of Excellence” Award from the Web Marketing Association (WMA).

www.acefitness.org, which offers certified fitness professionals and consumers a complete selection of up-to-date fitness information and products, ranked highly in every judging category, including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, navigation and ease of use.

The WMA was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate Web development and is the producer of the WebAwards, an annual competition designed to judge corporate Web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry.

"ACE’s success in the WebAwards competition is a testament to our commitment to providing our customers the best online service possible," said Ken Germano, president, American Council on Exercise. "ACE strives to offer the highest quality customer experience from product selection to delivery and is honored to receive recognition for its efforts."

Over the past year, the customer experience of www.acefitness.org has seen numerous improvements. A large part of the design includes an expanded and improved ACE Pro site - dedicated to helping ACE-certified Professionals build their fitness careers. The Pro Site offers an online education center and archives of ACE's various publications and e-newsletters.

The site also includes the Get Fit section - completely devoted to fitness consumers. The section contains all the information today’s consumer wants and needs – from finding a local gym or personal trainer to a free online discussion area where readers can ask questions or share information with other fitness enthusiasts.
