SAN DIEGO, Calif. – July 15, 2004- The American Council on Exercise (ACE), America’s Authority on Fitness, opened its doors on July 9, 2004 for the first ever Fitness Professional Forum and Open House in San Diego. More than 80 ACE Certified Fitness Professionals attended the event to share their ideas and learn the latest in fitness industry trends and concepts.

The forum was highlighted by a panel discussion featuring four, distinguished fitness industry experts spoke to the crowd. Ken Germano, President of ACE, touched on the important topic of obesity prevention and the of lack of physical activity in our society; Dr. Cedric Bryant, ACE chief exercise physiologist, covered nutritional supplements and professional scope-of-practice concerns; Graham Melstrand, ACE director of educational services, spoke on the important topics of credentialing, accreditation and professional benefits; and Sabrena Newton, fitness consultant, educator and author, discussed how to attract more club members to group fitness activities.

“We were very excited to not only provide a forum for discussion of the latest in fitness, but also to hear feedback from all of our professionals on the challenges and the successes that they encounter on a daily basis,” said Germano.

Guests enjoyed a healthy lunch and received a duffle bag compliments of SPRI Products, a leading distributor of rubber resistance-exercise products and fitness accessories. Also included in the bags were ACE products, fitness gear and literature.
