American Council on Exercise (ACE) Brings Practical Training Program to Ten U.S. Cities this June

SAN DIEGO--The American Council on Exercise (ACE) will offer its Practical Training Program at 10 locations across the country on June 16-17, 2001. The 15-hour program, which provides entry-level personal trainers with hands-on training to improve their skills and further their careers, will be offered in the following cities:

Los Angeles, Calif.
San Francisco, Calif.
Denver, Colo.
Dallas, Tex.
Chicago, Ill.
Minneapolis, Minn.
Atlanta, Ga.
New York, N.Y.
Boston, Mass.
Washington, D.C.

The Practical Training Program will cover fitness assessment, program design, upper- and lower body strength training, and flexibility training. It will include hands-on instruction as well as basic assessment on drills designed to give fitness professionals the confidence to perform their jobs safely and effectively.

All participants will receive 1.5 Continuing Education Credits, which meets the 2-year requirement for CECs needed to maintain current certification.

The fee for the ACE Practical Training Program is $299, and fitness professionals can register by calling ACE Professional Services at 800/825-3636 or through the ACE web site, www.acefitness.org/getcertified (click “Practical Training Calendar” for the registration form).

ACE is also recruiting clubs to be host facilities for upcoming Practical Training Programs. Host facilities receive one complementary pass and preferred pricing on programs held at their club. The ACE Practical Training Program will be offered in the same cities Sept. 15-16, 2001, and Dec. 15-16, 2001.
